Teacher Appreciation Week

I always love when Teacher Appreciation Week comes around. It may be a little selfish, but it's nice to be pampered with special treats during the week. When you take your job as seriously as most teachers do and work much more than full time during the school year, this week makes you feel like what you do is recognized and appreciated. I love my kids and can't think of anything I'd rather do than teach!

They each brought sprigs of flowers one day to create one beautiful bouquet! Reminds me that I have the privilege of helping to foster growth in these kids throughout the year.

Next they brought in  fruit to fill a basket. What a blessing to watch God produce fruits in their lives.

Then they brought in candy - my favorite! Reminds me of the sweetness of forming relationships with the kids.

On the final day, we were spoiled with a delicious lunch. A moment of respite in the middle of the day...
  And some sweet cards

I love my job!

Farm Field Trip

On a cool breezy morning this past week, we took a trip to a local farm to check out the animals and enjoy the beautiful day. We toured the farm, fed the animals, and ate a picnic lunch in the hay barn. What a pleasant final field trip as we near the end of the schoolyear.

First stop: horses...

and the donkey

It was a beautiful day!

 feeding and petting the goats

Cinder, the farm dog, followed us everywhere.

The new calf, Gertrude

Farm-fresh eggs!

There was even an alpaca

At the end of the morning, we got a special treat when the farrier came, complete with a furnace and anvil, to put new horseshoes on the horses.
